the cutest child ever = sophia

I got invited to my sweet little friend Sophia's 9th birthday party and it was so much fun! This is such a great family with a heart for inviting people into their home. The party guest played cute pet themed games and ate "treats" including "dog frisbees" (doughnuts).  I was the unofficial photographer for the party and I loved it! I just wanted to share a few of my favorites from the night on here! Don't y'all agree she is ADORABLE!!

virginia creeper trail

My mom and sister came up to visit us a few weekends ago and we took them on the creeper trail. This 34 mile beautiful bike trial runs from whitetop to abingdon, VA. We just did half of the trail into Demascus though. I was so proud of my mama for being up for this, she did great! We had the most perfect day, and the leaves were in there peak. Skot and I rode the tandem so I got to take pictures while he steered us down, it worked out nice :-) Above were some of my favorites from the day! Hope you like!

sophalicious

Anyone who has talked to me longer than 10 minutes has probably heard me brag about Sophie AKA sophalicious, sophakitty, Sophia, and Sofa Loaf... This little kitty is my pride and joy. If I love our kids half as much as this sweet baby then I think I will be ok haha. She is a milk-aholic as Skot says. She will knock the cereal bowl right out of your hand... no lie :-) I love these pictures... they will be displayed somewhere in our house very soon. I hope you like!

Guatemala: Fundaninos

Oh where to begin.... This trip was so so amazing its hard to put into words how much it touched our hearts. These kids were the most loving, caring, giving kids I have ever met. Some of their stories are too sad tell but yet they were still so filled with joy and love. God is working in all of their hearts and it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I took over 2000 pictures! It was hard to pick just a few to post on here. The whole experience of being in a third world country for a week was definitely eye-opening but it was the kids who touched my life the most. We hope we can go back soon. Please keep Fundaninos in your prayers.

Antigua

My husband and I had the amazing opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala with our wonderful church over spring break. It was an experience that changed our life forever. The next post will be photos of the beautiful children we got to love on while in Central America. This post is just a few of my favorites I took while visiting Antigua the first day of our trip. The town was so rich in history and culture. It was a fun start to an amazing trip!

spontaneity

So after a pretty rough pharmacotherapy exam last Friday, I up and decided to go to Destin, Florida for the weekend to stay with my mom and step dad. You see, it was supposed to be beautiful, sunny, and WARM day here in east Tennessee, and instead it was a ugly, cloudy, and CHIILY day. So I called my husband and asked him if he would like to spend the weekend in the sunshine being warm on the beach? He replied with "I'll be home in two hours!" So I scurried around packing our suitcase, finding baby sitters for the animals, and gathering all my beloved pharmacology study material and by lunchtime we were headed south. There's something magical about trips unplanned. They are almost more exciting than the ones you prepare for months. They make you feel so free! I got to take some beautiful photos while on our impromptu vaca, I wanted to share a few on here. Hope they get you in the mood for summer :-)

This day was double exciting...
  1. 1st time in the snow with the new Nikon
