  1. My dearest Sophie who is such an amazing traveler. She never gives us trouble on the 6 hour haul home. This is her in the truck being so sweet.
  2. 1st sunset shot with the new camera.
  3. My mom and Step-Dad on Christmas day in the SNOW! It never snows in Alabama. This is my 1st White (well it didn't stick but whatever it's white to us in Alabama) Christmas!
  4. The stockings at my in-laws-house. Mrs. Jan hand-makes every one of them. Mine has kittens on the top :-)

Christmas upgrade... i love my husband

I hope you had a very *M*E*R*R*Y* *C*H*R*I*S*T*M*A*S*! I sure did. We spent the holiday traveling between our wonderful families in Alabama. It was so great with everyone being home for Christmas at the Montgomery household in Birmingham. My brother-in-laws are wonderful and they have such great taste in women, their significant others are just as fabulous as they are. And let me just brag on my oh-so-sweet husband for a minuet while I'm at it.... He is so supportive of everything I do. He is just excited as I am about my photography passion exploding. He got me the most wonderful Christmas present that I have ever received.... A Nikon D90! The photos above are a few of my favorites I took on Christmas day with it. It has soooooo many more features and settings than my old Nikon. A book is on the way from amazon explaining how the heck to use all this amazingness. :-) I can't wait to learn everything I can about it. Now, if only I could take the semester off to read the book, traveling abroad, trying out my new baby...
A girl can dream can't she??

    ice ice baby

First came beautiful snow, then came the ICE! I can't remember ever seeing anything quite like this before. It was almost eery stepping outside. Everything was frozen in place and it crunched when you stepped on it. While my strong husband and dad were remodeling our unfinished basement, I went out to explore with Jaycie and the Nikon. :-)  I love the last photo, she looks frozen too! After last week, I can honestly say I'm ready to go to the home state of Bama for Christmas. Maybe its a little warmer down there. Merry Christmas Y'all!

    ashlynn grace

OOOO this is my 1st baby shoot! It was so much fun. I loved watching Ashlynn make the cutest little faces. She is such a beautiful baby and I am so glad I got to take these shots for our sweet neighbors. Her parents are the couple under my "pregnancy" tab. Its neat I got to take pictures of Ashlynn in her mommy's tummy and now when she is out in the world! I think baby photography is my new fav. Anyone got any babies you need pictures of?  ;-)

This is one of our sweet friends that we go go to church with. She has such a kind spirit.  It was a pleasure to take these pretty pictures for her. The snow made background so beautiful don't ya think?

    jaycie + snow

Well it looks like it is going to be another snowy winter here in East Tennessee! Being an Alabama girl I didn't grow up seeing this beautiful white stuff every winter. I feel like a giddy school girl every time it begins to fall and so does our pup Jaycie. I'm so excited about hopefully taking a ton of beautiful photos this winter!

    family

What a great time this was to spend a day with my family making fun memories. My sweet grandparents have been married almost 49 years! Their love is a true inspiration for us. My Mom and step-dad Tim have been married for 2 years now and they have such a fun time together. My beautiful sister is always fun to take pictures of. She makes my job easy because she is so photogenic!

    decking the halls

Another love of mine is decorating, especially for holidays! Here's a few fun pictures I took of some of our Christmas decorations in our house. The banner in the bottom right is super easy to make with just scrapbook paper, paint, a hole punch, and ribbon.... or If you're feeling frisky you can use fabric like my super crafty friend Allison did. She has a great blog explaining how to do this ....  click here to check her out!!!) Oh gosh if I let myself this will turn into a craft/baking/photography blog... must stay focused! :-)

    miranda + jaycie

I love going home for holidays so much. I especially love it if I get to take some beautiful photos of my beautiful family! These are of my little (5"8) sister, Miranda and our 10 month old pup, Jaycie. I did a shoot with the whole family over Thanksgiving.... I'll post that one after finals ;-)
